About Steinbach Manitoba and Area

In 1874, eighteen Mennonite families from Russia founded a small town in an area with only one real distinguishing feature, a stoney brook - Steinbach, in German. Their faith, ambition, resourcefulness, and hard work all contributed to the unprecedented growth of the community. Steinbach still holds firm to the ideals of its founders.
Steinbach's leaders, with the support of their community, work hard to ensure that the City continues to move forward. You'll also find that Steinbach has a surprisingly large number of parks, playgrounds, green spaces, and walkways throughout the City, providing a safe, family-friendly environment for recreation and relaxation.
It's this commitment to the community, and to the future, that's led to a large growth in residential areas, and an enjoyable increase in services and amenities. Steinbach is more than just a city of the future... it's a city for the future.
